Record Warm April in Columbus

The monthly mean temperature in April 2017 at the John Glenn Columbus airport was 59.7 degrees.  This was the warmest April on record for Columbus.  Cincinnati and Dayton had their second warmest Aprils on record.

Record Warm February in Columbus

The monthly mean temperature in February 2017 at the John Glenn Columbus airport was 42.2 degrees. This was the warmest February on record for Columbus. The previous record for the monthly mean temperature in February was 41.8 degrees which occurred in 1882.

Record High Temperatures on February 23 and 24, 2017

The high temperature at the John Glenn Columbus International airport on February 24, 2017 was 78 degrees which set a record for the maximum temperature on the date of February 24.  The previous record was 72 degrees which was set in 1961.  The high temperature at the John Glenn Columbus International airport on February 23, 2017 was 72 degrees which set the record for the maximum temperature on the date of February 23.  The old record was 66 degrees which was set in 1986.  The maximum temperature in Cincinnati on February 24, 2017 was 78 degrees which broke the record for the maximum temperature on the date of February 24.  The previous record was 72 degrees which occurred in 1930.  The high temperature at Cleveland Hopkins airport on February 24, 2017 was 77 degrees which broke the record for the maximum temperature on the date of February 24.  The previous record was 69 degrees which was set in 1961.

Record High Temperatures on February 18, 2017

The high temperature at the John Glenn Columbus International airport on February 18, 2017 was 66 degrees which set a record for the maximum temperature on the date of February 18.  The previous record was 63 degrees which was set in 1936, 1948, 1994, and 2011.  The high temperature in Cleveland was 69 degrees which broke the old record of 62 set in 1981.  The high temperature in Toledo was 67 degrees which broke the old record of 59 which was set in 1961. The high temperature in Dayton was 65 degrees which broke the old record of 64 set in 1948.

Record High Temperatures on December 26, 2016

The high temperature at the John Glenn Columbus International airport on December 26, 2016 was 69 degrees which set a record for the maximum temperature on the date of December 26.  The previous record was 62 degrees which was set in 1982 and 1889.  The high temperature in Cincinnati was 72 degrees which broke the old record of 64 that was set in 2015, 1889 and 1885.  The high temperature at the Akron Canto Regional airport was 65 degrees which broke the old record of 63 degrees that was set in 1982.  The high temperature at the Cleveland Hopkins International airport was 68 degrees which broke the old record of 64 degrees that was set in 1875.

Record High Temperatures on November 18, 2016

The high temperature at the John Glenn Columbus International Airport on November 18, 2016 was 75 degrees which set a record for the maximum temperature on the date of November 18.  The previous record was 73 degrees which was set in 1954.  The high temperature at Cleveland Hopkins Airport was 74 degrees which broke the old record of 71 which was set in 2015 and 1954.  The high temperature at the Akron Canton Regional Airport was 73 degrees which broke the old record of 70 which was set in 2015, 1958 and 1954.  The high temperature at Toledo Express Airport was 73 degrees which broke the old record of 70 which was set in 1954.

Record Broken in Cleveland and Tied in Columbus

The high temperature at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport on June 11, 2016 was 94 degrees which set a record for the maximum temperature on the date of June 11.  The previous record was 93 degrees which was set in 1933.  The high temperature at Port Columbus International Airport on June 11, 2016 was 95 degrees which tied the record for the maximum temperature on the date of June 11.  The temperature in Columbus also reached 95 on June 11 in 1933 and 1914.

Record Broken in Cincinnati and Tied in Columbus

The low temperature in Cincinnati on May 16, 2016 was 31 degrees which broke the record for the minimum temperature on the date of May 16.  The previous record was 32 degrees which was set in 1997.  The low temperature at Port Columbus on May 16, 2016 was 32 degrees which tied the record for the minimum temperature on May 16, that was set originally in 1959.

Records Tied in Columbus and Cincinnati

The high temperature at Port Columbus on February 20, 2016 was 68 degrees which tied the record for the maximum temperature on that date.  The record was originally set in 1891.  The high temperature in Cincinnati on February 20, 2016 was 72 degrees which tied the record for the maximum temperature on that date.  The record was also originally set in 1891.

Record Warmth in December 2015

Several locations in Ohio recorded their warmest Decembers on record in 2015.  The average temperature in Columbus during December was 44.7 degrees which was 11.2 degrees above normal and was the warmest December on record for Columbus.  The average temperature in Dayton during December was 43.7 degrees which was 12.5 degrees above normal and was the warmest December on record for Dayton.  The average temperature in Cincinnati during December was 46.2 degrees which was 12.1 degrees above normal and was the third warmest December on record for Cincinnati.
