Hurricane Delta rapidly intensified into a major hurricane over the Northwestern Caribbean Sea on Tuesday morning.\u00a0 At 11:00 a.m. EDT on Tuesday the center of Hurricane Delta was located at latitude 18.2\u00b0N and longitude 82.6\u00b0W which put it about 320 miles (520 km) east-southeast of Cozumel, Mexico.\u00a0 Delta was moving toward the west-northwest at 16 m.p.h. (26 km\/h).\u00a0 The maximum sustained wind speed was 130 m.p.h. (210 km\/h) and there were wind gusts to 150 m.p.h. (240 km\/h).\u00a0 The minimum surface pressure was 954 mb.<\/p>\n
