{"id":1055,"date":"2015-06-23T04:05:35","date_gmt":"2015-06-23T04:05:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/jayhobgood.com\/?p=1055"},"modified":"2015-06-23T04:05:35","modified_gmt":"2015-06-23T04:05:35","slug":"tropical-storm-kujira-makes-landfall-on-hainan-island","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jayhobgood.com\/?p=1055","title":{"rendered":"Tropical Storm Kujira Makes Landfall on Hainan Island"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Tropical Storm Kujira made landfall on the east coast of Hainan Island on Monday.\u00a0 At 11:00 p.m. EDT on Monday the center of Tropical Storm Kujira was located at latitude 19.9\u00b0N and longitude 109.1\u00b0E which put it about 100 miles (160 km) south of Beihai, China.\u00a0 Kujira was moving toward the northwest at 10 m.p.h. (16 km\/h).\u00a0 The maximum sustained wind speed was 40 m.p.h. (65 km\/h) and there were wind gusts to 50 m.p.h.
