{"id":1591,"date":"2015-09-18T03:50:33","date_gmt":"2015-09-18T03:50:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/jayhobgood.com\/?p=1591"},"modified":"2015-09-18T03:50:33","modified_gmt":"2015-09-18T03:50:33","slug":"typhoon-krovanh-nearing-iwo-to","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jayhobgood.com\/?p=1591","title":{"rendered":"Typhoon Krovanh Nearing Iwo To"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Typhoon Krovanh continued to intensify on Thursday and it is now the equivalent of a Major Hurricane.\u00a0 At 11:00 p.m. EDT on Thursday the center of Typhoon Krovanh was located at latitude 24.1\u00b0N and longitude 142.5\u00b0E which put it about 105 miles (170 km) southeast of Iwo To.\u00a0 Krovanh was moving toward the north-northwest at 10 m.p.h. (16 km\/h).\u00a0 The maximum sustained wind speed was 120 m.p.h. (195 km\/h) and there were wind gusts to 150 m.p.h. (240 km\/h).\u00a0 The minimum surface pressure was 935 mb.\u00a0 The weather station on Iwo To is currently reporting sustained winds of 33 m.p.h. (53 km\/h) with wind gusts to 48 m.p.h.
