The risk posed by Tropical Storm Beryl prompted the issuance of Hurricane and Storm Watches for a portion of the coast of Texas.\u00a0 At 5:00 p.m. EDT on Friday the center of Tropical Storm Beryl was located at latitude 21.2\u00b0N and longitude 89.2\u00b0W which put the center about 35 miles (55 km) east-southwest of Progreso, Mexico.\u00a0 Beryl was moving toward the west-northwest at 15 m.p.h. (24 km\/h).\u00a0 The maximum sustained wind speed was 65 m.p.h. (105 km\/h) and there were wind gusts to 80 m.p.h. (130 km\/h).\u00a0 The minimum surface pressure was 989 mb.<\/p>\n
