Tropical Storm Danas dropped rain on eastern China on Tuesday.\u00a0 At 5:00 p.m. EDT on Tuesday the center of Tropical Storm Danas was located at latitude 27.6\u00b0N and longitude 120.3\u00b0E which put the center about 50 miles (80 km) southwest of Wenzhou, China.\u00a0 Danas was moving toward the west-southwest at 6 m.p.h. (10 km\/h).\u00a0 The maximum sustained wind speed was 40 m.p.h. (65 km\/h) and there were wind gusts to 50 m.p.h. (80 km\/h).\u00a0 The minimum surface pressure was 986 mb.<\/p>\n
The center of Tropical Storm Danas made landfall on the east coast of China just to the south of Wenzhou on Tuesday.\u00a0 The maximum sustained wind speed was 40 m.p.h. (65 km\/h) at the time of landfall.\u00a0 Winds to tropical storm force extended out 120 miles (195 km) from the center of Danas’ circulation.<\/p>\n
Tropical Storm Danas will move around the southern side of a high pressure system over eastern Asia.\u00a0 The high pressure system will steer Danas toward the southwest during the next 24 hours.\u00a0 On its anticipated track, Tropical Storm Danas will move farther inland over eastern China.<\/p>\n
Tropical Storm Danas will weaken gradually as it moves inland over eastern China.\u00a0 The heaviest rain will be produced by bands in the southern side of Danas’ circulation.\u00a0 Bands in the northern side of Tropical Storm Danas will consist primarily of showers and lower clouds.<\/p>\n
Tropical Storm Danas will drop heavy rain over parts of Zhejiang.\u00a0 Heavy rain could cause floods in some locations.<\/p>\n
