{"id":22954,"date":"2025-08-24T03:02:18","date_gmt":"2025-08-24T03:02:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jayhobgood.com\/?p=22954"},"modified":"2025-08-24T03:02:18","modified_gmt":"2025-08-24T03:02:18","slug":"kajiki-strengthens-to-a-typhoon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jayhobgood.com\/?p=22954","title":{"rendered":"Kajiki Strengthens to a Typhoon"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Former Tropical Storm Kajiki strengthened to a typhoon over the South China Sea southeast of Hainan on Saturday night.\u00a0 At 11:00 p.m. EDT on Saturday the center of Typhoon Kajiki was located at latitude 17.3\u00b0N and longitude 110.6\u00b0E which put the center about 85 miles (135 km) south-southeast of Lingshui, China.\u00a0 Kajiki was moving toward the west at 13 m.p.h. (21 km\/h).\u00a0 The maximum sustained wind speed was 75 m.p.h. (120 km\/h) and there were wind gusts to 90 m.p.h. (145 km\/h).\u00a0 The minimum surface pressure was 985 mb.<\/p>\n<p>Former Tropical Storm Kajiki strengthened to a typhoon on Saturday night.
