Tropical Storm Mario formed over the Eastern North Pacific Ocean near Zihuatanejo, Mexico on Friday morning.\u00a0 The government of Mexico issued a Tropical Storm Watch for a portion of the coast.\u00a0 At 11:00 a.m. EDT on Friday the center of Tropical Storm Mario was located at latitude 17.2\u00b0N and longitude 101.9\u00b0W which put the center about 40 miles (65 km) south-southwest of Zihuatanejo, Mexico.\u00a0 Mario was moving toward the west-northwest at 14 m.p.h. (22 km\/h).\u00a0 The maximum sustained wind speed was 40 m.p.h. (65 km\/h) and there were wind gusts to 50 m.p.h. (80 km\/h).\u00a0 The minimum surface pressure was 1006 mb.<\/p>\n
