Tropical Cyclone Grant was nearing the Cocos Islands on Tuesday evening.\u00a0 At 10:00 p.m. EST on Tuesday the center of Tropical Cyclone Grant was located at latitude 12.0\u00b0S and longitude 98.0\u00b0E which put the center about 85 miles (135 km) east of the Cocos Islands.\u00a0 Grant was moving toward the west at 7 m.p.h. (11 km\/h).\u00a0 The maximum sustained wind speed was 45 m.p.h. (75 km\/h) and there were wind gusts to 60 m.p.h. (95 km\/h).\u00a0 The minimum surface pressure was 997 mb.<\/p>\n
