{"id":24003,"date":"2026-02-06T16:28:04","date_gmt":"2026-02-06T16:28:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jayhobgood.com\/?p=24003"},"modified":"2026-02-06T16:28:04","modified_gmt":"2026-02-06T16:28:04","slug":"tropical-cyclone-mitchell-strengthens-near-western-australia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jayhobgood.com\/?p=24003","title":{"rendered":"Tropical Cyclone Mitchell Strengthens Near Western Australia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Tropical Cyclone Mitchell strengthened near the coast of Western Australia on Friday morning.\u00a0 At 10:00 a.m. EST on Friday the center of Tropical Cyclone Mitchell was located at latitude 18.7\u00b0S and longitude 119.4\u00b0E which put the center about 145 miles (235 km) north-northeast of Port Hedland, Australia.\u00a0 Mitchell was moving toward the west-southwest at 12 m.p.h. (19 km\/h).\u00a0 The maximum sustained wind speed was 45 m.p.h. (75 km\/h) and there were wind gusts to 60 m.p.h.
