Hurricane Harvey weakened to a tropical storm on Saturday afternoon, but it was still dropping heavy rain on parts of Texas.\u00a0 At 2:00 p.m. EDT on Saturday the center of Tropical Storm Harvey was located at latitude 29.1\u00b0N and longitude 97.6\u00b0W which put it about 45 miles (75 km) west-northwest of Victoria, Texas.\u00a0 Harvey was moving toward the north-northwest at 2 m.p.h. (3 km\/h).\u00a0 The maximum sustained wind speed was 70 m.p.h. (110 km\/h) and there were wind gusts to 85 m.p.h. (135 km\/h).\u00a0 The minimum surface pressure was 987 mb.<\/p>\n
A Tropical Storm Warning was in effect for the portion of the coast from Baffin Bay to High Island, Texas.<\/p>\n
The core of Hurricane Harvey moved inland over San Jose Island on Friday night.\u00a0 It passed over Rockport, Texas and moved slowly north-northwest on Saturday.\u00a0 The strongest wind occurred near Port Aransas, Rockport and Ingleside.\u00a0 Some of the peak wind gusts were:<\/p>\n
