{"id":6403,"date":"2018-08-16T21:01:51","date_gmt":"2018-08-16T21:01:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/jayhobgood.com\/?p=6403"},"modified":"2018-08-16T21:01:51","modified_gmt":"2018-08-16T21:01:51","slug":"ernesto-makes-transition-to-tropical-storm","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jayhobgood.com\/?p=6403","title":{"rendered":"Ernesto Makes Transition to Tropical Storm"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Former Subtropical Storm Ernesto made a transition to a tropical storm on Thursday afternoon.\u00a0 At 5:00 p.m. EDT on Thursday the center of Tropical Storm Ernesto was located at latitude 43.0\u00b0N and longitude 41.0\u00b0W which put it about 645 miles (1035 km) east-southeast of Cape Race, Newfoundland.\u00a0 Ernesto was moving toward the northeast at 18 m.p.h. (30 km\/h).\u00a0 The maximum sustained wind speed was 45 m.p.h. (75 km\/h) and there were wind gusts to 60 m.p.h.
