Tropical Storm Nari dropped locally heavy rain and producing gusty winds on Honshu on Friday night.\u00a0 At 11:00 p.m. EDT on Friday the center of Tropical Storm Nari was located at latitude 35.2\u00b0N and longitude 137.0\u00b0E which put it about 10 miles (15 km) east of Nagoya, Japan.\u00a0 Nari was moving toward the north-northeast at 15 m.p.h. (24 km\/h).\u00a0 The maximum sustained wind speed was 40 m.p.h. (65 km\/h) and there were wind gusts to 50 m.p.h. (80 km\/h).\u00a0 The minimum surface pressure was 1000 mb.<\/p>\n
Tropical Storm Nari was dropping locally heavy rain over parts of central Honshu.\u00a0 The heaviest rain was falling in bands located in the western half of the circulation.\u00a0 Heavier rain was falling in the area between Nagoya, Osaka and Kyoto.\u00a0 Bands of heavier rain were also falling north of Nagoya.\u00a0 Most of the bands in the eastern half of Tropical Storm Nari consisted primarily lighter showers and lower clouds.\u00a0 The heavier rain could produce flash flooding in some locations.<\/p>\n
Tropical Storm Nari will move more toward the east-northeast on Saturday.\u00a0 The center of Nari is forecast to pass north of Tokyo.\u00a0 Tropical Storm Nari will continue to drop locally heavy rain over central and eastern Honshu when it moves over those locations.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
